New Funding Will Support Career-focused Program for Women in Re-Entry Programs
Albany, NY September 25, 2007 – The Dress for Success Albany program has been awarded a grant of $5,000 for the Re-Entry Employment Scholarship Project from the Alice Moore Foundation. This contribution will provide much-needed financial support to Albany Community Action Partnership’s (AlbanyCAP) Dress for Success Albany program to help provide interview suits, business attire and career support services to women re-entering the workforce from prison.
“Dress for Success Albany” provides an extraordinary service in this community, and the Alice Moore Foundation is proud to be a part of it,” said Alice Green, President of the Alice Moore Foundation. “The important work of AlbanyCAP, and the Dress for Success Albany Re-Entry Employment Scholarship project, undoubtedly strengthens our entire community. We are confident that our support of Dress for Success Albany will help more women become true success stories.”

Dress for Success Albany will officially open its doors to women in the Capital Region on October 24th and joins a worldwide network reaching 82 cities and over 350,000 women since 1997. The program works with disadvantaged women to focus on their economic and social development, encouraging self-sufficiency through career development and employment retention.
AlbanyCAP, established in 1966 as Albany County Opportunity, is a member of the Community Action Partnership, a national association of more than 1000 agency members focused on inspiring change in the community. The organization provides support services to low income residents providing a comprehensive approach to help people improve their lives and their futures.
